This three-day ISPS CSO/SSO training course will provide company and ship security officers with the training necessary to meet their obligations under the International Ship and Port Facility (ISPS) Code.

This training is of value to everyone assigned as a company security officer who is responsible for overseeing fleet security and safety. This training provides a rapid and comprehensive programme that enables shipping companies to meet the requirements of the ISPS Code with security onboard their ships.

This comprehensive programme will:

  • train company and ship security officers in the specific responsibilities they have under the ISPS Code.

  • provide comprehensive ISPS Code knowledge, fully immersing candidates in all elements of the Code.

  • provide expertise in the specific requirements and duties to be carried out

What will you learn?

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • organise and undertake ship security assessments, implementing the findings into the ship security plan.

  • manage the implement and maintenance of the ship security plan

  • enhance security awareness and vigilance while ensuring security communication and co-operation between the ship's crew, company personnel and contracting governments

  • assess security drills, exercises and the roles of the crew

  • co-ordinate and ensure the security of cargo handling operations

  • undertake internal audits and reviewing security activities.

The three days of training culminate in the awarding of certificates of completion indicating that training in compliance with IMO requirements has been received.
